Mona Lisa goes on tour
Mona Lisa was getting a little tired of all the people coming to see her in the museum. She wanted to get out and see some of the world for herself. So she made a deal with the museum director — she would go on a tour of Nashville, but only if he agreed to let people come and see her in their homes, workplaces and creative spaces.
The director was happy to agree, and so Mona Lisa set off on her tour. She was amazed by what she saw — people living in really cool homes, working at all sorts of jobs, and creating all sorts of things.
Now she can't wait to share everything she saw. She is now the admirer herself, and her eyes are opened wide with wonder at all that has been revealed before them.
Mona Lisa, the Nashvillian
I am Mona Lisa, okay not the work of art, but a less-than-famous Southern girl, whose mom was Brazilian and dad was a Baptist minister. These two people named me Mona Lisa. And yes, there’s a story about my name. I’ll fill you in later.
I was raised in a creative home.
My mother said, "Art sets you apart."
And she made sure we were exposed to the arts.
We didn’t go to art museums but my dad would always take us to historical homes and places on our yearly vacations. Those trips had a profound effect on my life.
Regardless…
I was born with a passion for art and design.
And this is who I am: a graphic designer, serial entrepreneur and an optimistic procrastinator, who loves art, interiors, people, history, architecture, Rio de Janeiro, Nashvegas, Seinfeld, Chopin, arroz doce and more than anything else — being in love.
